I have a 2007 iMac, 24", 2.4 GHz. Currently I have a 1 GB stick and a 2 GB stick. I know it maxes out at 2 x 2 GB. I just bought this but I'm suddenly worrying that maybe I got the wrong thing - could someone else look at this and let me know what they think?
Here's the product description:
http://www.amazon.com/Upgrade-Anodi...C2-5300/dp/tech-data/B0038NA2KE/ref=de_a_smtd
Here's what Apple has for specifications:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1423?viewlocale=en_US#2
Specifically they mention nonparity and unbuffered, which I didn't see mentioned on the Amazon description page.
Also, was that a good price or have I paid too much ($20)? Before shipping it was just over half of Crucial's price ($37) for what as far as I can tell is the same product.
Will inserting this in my computer cause issues if it's the wrong product? Is there something I should do to make sure I don't brick my entire system? (My important files are already backed up to Dropbox and my laptop, so I'm not worried about permanently losing any important data... I would be worried about rending my iMac worthless.)
