So I ran into an interesting problem after upgrading my MobileMe trial... I couldnt find any information on here about it, so I figured I'd post.
Background:
3 days ago I converted my free trial into a membership. After some initial hiccups, mail started flowing freely into the iphone, web and mail interface. I noticed that in iTunes when syncing, my MobileMe account now said @mac.com instead of @me.com like it did throughout the trial... didn't think anything of it until I tried to send a message from my iphone. I can send fine from me.com/mail and Mail.app, both of which show my account as @me.com. Just not my iphone which shows @mac.com since the upgrade with no way to change it. I get the following:
Cannot Send Email
connection to smtp.me.com failed
Solution:
After trying to sync the account, delete it resync, etc figuring a setting was stuck somewhere, I decided to call Apple. After going back and forth for about 10 min. we decide the best course was to try setting up a new MobileMe account on the iphone with the appropriate @me.com email.
Works like a charm, now I just need to turn off mail syncing to avoid overwriting the account setting again.
Anybody else have this issue?
On a side note, I find it interesting that you can setup multiple MobileMe accounts, but only one Exchange account.
