Upgrading my Macbook Pro, would this work well?

I have got the base model Macbook Pro, and I wanted to upgrade the hard drive to 1TB and the memory to 8GB. I have chosen some things from Amazon, would they work well together in my Macbook? And would there be any reduction in speed?

Use MacTracker to find the correct memory type.

Why not upgrade the HDD to 7200 rpm?

The HD would work but dont you have 4GB of ram in your mac now? Check out OWC
