Upgrading older MBP

I upgraded the ram from 2GB to 5GB today and its better already

It is a MacBook Pro 2008 early model

I have ordered a 1TB Seagate HHD and wondering if I just CCC clone over or do I have to reinstall from scratch for it to recognise the drive benefits

Its an upgrade from my Titanium PowerBook 500 with 80GB hd

Depending on how messy your current install is you might get a bit of a boost from a clean install, but it shouldn't matter too much.

CCC is great and I use it religiously for cloning my Movie Folder to an external HD


I prefer clean installs when replacing a hard drive that is my OS drive, but than again I do not have 200 apps so for me redownloading all the apps I use is only a few hours
