i bought a 8gb iphone about 6 weeks ago unlocked. i already have at&t as my carrier but i didn't want to pay for the data plan plus get stuck with another 2 year contract with at&t that's the reason why i bought it unlock.
i heard that there is a hack for the new 1.1.1 software, so i called the guy i bought my phone from and i asked him if he could upgrade my phone to 1.1.1 and he told me he couldn't because it would brick the phone.
is this right. if you could unlock an iphone with 1.1.1 why can't you upgrade an older software to 1.1.1.
