Upgrading Software

I have a Verizon iPhone that I want to restore since I am out of my install everything on cydia phase and get it cleaned up. It is currently on 4.2.6(8E200) with baseband 1.0.05. Can I upgrade to latest version, not sure if Verizon finally got on the same page as AT&T and still be able to jailbreak?

Edit: Title should read "Updating Firmware"

You can just delete all the packages through Cydia, takes a bit of time but that way you don't need to bother restoring, and rejailbreaking and stuff. If you were to update iOS the jailbreak would be tethered also.
 
I would still like to do a clean install as messages is starting to lag recently even after deleting 90% of my messages. I have downloaded Tiny Umbrella and tried to save the SHSH but I click save and no SHSH shows up in the list. Have tried this with Retrieve from Cydia checked/unchecked and nothing...Is there any way I can bump up to 4.2.8?

I was able to grab the SHSH now, got quite the list...


• iPhone4CDMA 4.2.10
• iPhone4CDMA 4.2.6
• iPhone4CDMA 5.0b1
• iPhone4CDMA 5.0b2
• iPhone4CDMA 5.0b3
• iPhone4CDMA 5.0b4
• iPhone4CDMA 5.0b5
• iPhone4CDMA 5.0b6

Can I use any of those to get an untethered 4.2.6 or 4.2.8?

In Cydia, 4.2.6, 4.2.8, and 4.2.10 are at the top in green?

Can I re-do 4.2.6 because I have the blob? If yes, can you provide a link to a description of how to do it with a blob.

Yes, TU pulls them from cydias server.
All you gotta do is download the official firmware version you want to restore to, open TU and click start tss server and shift or option and click restore in itunes to select the firmware you want to restore to.

And if I can get 4.2.8 blob to list in TinyUmbrella then it will work? And I know im being lazy at the moment, do you happen to know off-hand which one will untethered jb 4.2.6-4.2.8 on Mac?

Im not 100% cause I use a GSM iphone but I believe they both are untethered.

I meant the program, GreenPoison still work?

Found that Jailbreakme.com should work for 4.2.8

I keep getting a 1013 error when trying to do this...I start TSS Server, open iTunes, Option click Restore, it gets almost through it and gives me the error...Any fix?
