Is it possible to upgrade the iMac G5 with a Western Digital 10,000 rpm Rapture? Are there any known heat issues? Is upgrading the ram difficult? I have a Macmini and that was easy upgrading ram on that.

Which iMac, (I'm not sure at to whether you can actually do this) but the Rev C iMac is apparently a lot less user accessible now that it is smaller than the Rev A and B models.

3.5 sata but i don't know if you want to do that heat might be an issue since cooling for the hard drives is a concern with the iMacs

I understand there were some difficulties reported with the WD Rapture, as the drives kept disappearing and ascending into heaven. However, users of the closely related WD Raptor have been quite happy.

Oh, one other thing, or maybe not, I can faintly remember when the first iMac G5 coming out that there had to be a special drive used as it was mounted horizontally (although they may have been talking about the CD Drive).
