Greetings:
I have a non-iPhone service contract with AT&T (I have had it since September 2006) with the SIM card. I also have an activated, unlocked, and jailbroken 2G iPhone with firmware 1.1.4 that I had been using in India for a while. This iPhone was not activated using my current SIM card; I'd bought the iPhone on Apple.com and used ZiPhone to a, u, and j.
I am now back in the United States, and I will not need the iPhone to remain unlocked. Also, I want to upgrade to firmware 2.0.2.
My question is this: if I do a restore to 2.0.2, will my iPhone be able to be "re-activated" using the non-iPhone SIM card without WinPwn or any future ZiPhone release? Or will I be prompted to sign-up for a new 2-year contract with AT&T?
Thanks in advance,
Rajiv Varma
