I'm currently running a 4.0 JB and want to upgrade to 4.1 since i got a new pc and itunes won't recognize it. I just downloaded TU, limera1n, and the iphone3.1 4.1 ipsw. I think that's all the pieces that i need so any can help me put these pieces together and give a some instructions, that'd be great. Thanks.

If you have your 4.1 shsh saved, then you are good to go.
Since you're still on 4.0, you should probably keep your 1.59.00 baseband (even if you don't unlock, its better to keep if you ever want to sell).
To keep baseband follow this:

Then, once your upgraded, jailbreak with this:

*personally I think greenpois0n works smoother (just my experience), but limera1n is fine.

I used snowbreeze 2.1, was their an easier method?
I would also like to ask, whe i open cydia on the top i get this message in green letters "SHSH: IOS 4.0.1, 4.02, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.2b3"
Does that mean i have all those saved?
I ask because i dont recall saving any of them, i think i tried once with TU but at the end i got a message that said i was too late....
Does cydia save them automatically everytime a new one comes out?
Yes you have all these saved and yes Cydia does it automatically for you once you ask the first time.
These directions worked for me over the weekend. The whole process went smoothly using TinyUmbrella and Limera1n.
Just to be on the safe side make sure that you have TinyUmbrela save your SHSH Blobs locally.
i'm getting the same problem with tiny ubrella,i exit recovery mode but still have tge same version. I have a iphone 4 locked with 4.0ios trying to restore to 4.1. Any ideas how to overcome this problem?
