Okay, I'm getting into the market of upgrading from my current laptop, a powerbook g4. I'll be doing mostly audio recording, web design, and a bit of animation with it. I was hoping that the new apple macbooks that were revealed today would be a nice upgrade from the "old" macbooks and it would be an easy decision, but that is not the case now. I need a firewire port on my laptop, and don't have enough money to buy the macbook pro. What does apple do with all the old laptops they discontinue? Do they sell them at discount prices? Is it generally a good idea to get a used mac? Its been so long since i bought an apple computer.
