I have an iPhone 4 jailbroken and running 4.0.1. I want to upgrade to iOS 5 tomorrow and be able to keep all my text messages. If I let the phone back-up on iTunes (something I have avoided until now) and then restore it from that back-up once I install iOS 5 will everything be okay? Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched and could not find an answer to my exact question. Thanks for your help!

If you do back up be sure to remove all your Cydia tweaks because I restored from backup and didn't remove the tweaks and I had my custom carrier. I had to set as new to get rid of it.

Thanks. Sorry just to clarify because I was not specific at all in my original post (my mistake), will I still have my text messages and app progress? That's all I really care about since iOS 5 gives me most of what I jailbroke for in the first place. Thanks again!
