So I'm upgrading to an iPhone 5 and handing my iPhone 4 to my sister. What do I need to do to transfer my number the iphone 5 and get my sister on my iphone 4? She currently has a dumb phone. We're on a verizon family plan.

When you get your iPhone 5 it'll activate on your line, at that moment the 4 is free and clear.
She can call them on the phone and have the 4 replace her current dumb phone, or even do it online.
Since you're already on a share plan her line will just got $40 smartphone access and share in whatever bucket of data you guys have.
