If I upgrade my imac to Lion will it affect my windows partition? My windows partition is strictly for work so I really can't take a chance.

NM - I did a search and it seems some people had issues and some didnt.

Does Lion have a function to switch between both systems w/o restarting the comp?

Do this:
  1. Back up your Windows Partition completely. If you have enough space, make a system image. I STRONGLY recommend you make a system image in addition to backing up all files.
  2. Upgrade to Lion
  3. Aquire VMware Fusion 4 (Amazing Virtualization and Windows OS management software) It is sold for 50$
  4. Check to make sure your Windows partition is working. If it is not, restore using your system image
  5. Using Fusion, you should have access to your Boot Camp parition from your Mac desktop, or use the Boot Camp easy switching.

I hope this helps.

Makes sense to me ... along with a system image a utility like ghost ( or maybe win clone never used it ) can be beneficial.
