I have a one of a kind setup with a Lacie External SSD 1TB HD running my 2012 iMac 3.4 Ghz with 32 GB ram using a raid stripped 0 Setup on the SSD Drive. I am presently running Mt Lion 10.8.5. I would like to upgrade to Mavericks. My concern is since it is a raid and more importantly it is a Raid 0 and Mavericks and Raid 0 setups don't like each other. I need to mention that my internal HD (the 3 TB Hard Drive) is being used as a extra storage drive. I am extremely happy with my system as far as speed is concerned. From a cold shutdown, I press my power button and up to the log in prompt only takes 13.5 seconds each and every time. I mean this baby screams as far as speed is concerned. I also should mention that I use 2 additional 27 inch monitors using the TB ports. My SSD external Drive that is my boot drive has a extra TB port so I am able to piggyback the other 3rd monitor into that drive. I have also backed up my system on another SSD Drive a Lacie 256GB External using Carbon Copy Clone. So I could restore if problems come up if I try to upgrade but wanted to get feedback first before any attempt was made for me to do this. As far as the setup using Mt Lion, it is a truly dream setup. However that being said, I would like to upgrade to Mavericks as there is some software I own that runs only on Mavericks and also I would like my dock on each monitor. However I heard horror stories about how Mavericks hates Raid 0 setups. People say that they can't install or get a No Recovery Partition Error. Some people say Mavericks did nothing for them but SLOW DOWN THEIR SYSTEM. Has anyone upgraded using a Raid 0 Stripped setup with no problems or what work arounds did you have to come up with in order to make it work? I am interested in all or any feedback on this subject. Thanks.
