Upgrading to SE, does my wife need to be present in store?

So, I work fairly close to an Apple store. I was going to upgrade her iPhone 4 to the new iPhone SE. Does anyone have experience on knowing, if she needs to be present with me, in order for me to upgrade for her and bring it home?

This may seem like a silly question, so I do apologize in advance if it is.
