I have a MacBook from 2006 and it currently has the highest software upgrade it can handle, which is 10.4.11
I'm trying to upgrade it to Snow Leopard, but since the CD drive on my MacBook no longer works, I use an external CD Drive. It's a USB powered, Lacie Slim DVD and CD Drive.
When I try to put Snow Leopard in and do the installation process, upon rebooting, I find a grey screen with a file folder and a question mark in it. I've tried rebooting it while holding the c key, the ctrl key and the option key. I am not sure what to do or whether or not I can use the external drive to upgrade. Any help is greatly appreciated!
