Upgrading Vista to Win 7: iTunes question

I will be upgrading my Win PC from Vista to Windows 7. I want to do a clean install (wiping out existing files). I can of course re-install iTunes, but how to do preserve all of my music, games, apps...etc that are in iTunes? Do I back up a folder in the iTunes directory? Or does iTunes store info about what I have on a server some where?

I am running iTunes V10.1.0.56. Haven't download the version with iCloud.

I may just go the safe route and install a new hard drive and install Win 7 there.

When I changed computers a couple of months ago I found this info. Worked for me.

Be sure to backup your iPad first and move the files to an external hard drive.
