Considering upgrading from late 2016 15' 256 2.6 ghz i7 256gb flash storage w/ 16 gb DDR3 memory - to 2019 16' macbook pro (base model)

Would I see a significant improvement in overall functionality?

(I have zero problems with mine now, I just have education money I need to spend that otherwise would have gone to conferences which are currently cancelled due to some virus going around)

I think you'll see improvements in both the processing power and GPU within the 16" model, and if you have to spend money or lose it, why not
