I have a Mid 2014 13" MBP 2.6 i5, 256GB SSD, and 8GB of ram.

What would be a good replacement? 16" MBP?, MB Air? Mainly for school browsing the net etc.

Base MBP 13 with 16GB of ram.... pick your poison 512GB SSD or 1TB SSD

Check apple refurb site too (the website NOT the app)

I just bought the 2019 MacBook Air last week and I love it. MacBook Air, 2019, 128GB SSD, 8GB RAM. I use it for browsing, Calendars, Notes, Reminders, Email, Maps, Numbers.app, Pages.app, watching videos and reading books. I have used iMovie on it and apart from some dropped frames it works great for video editing. You might want to upgrade the SSD but 8GB RAM seems to work fine.

Are you sure the slowness is caused by the computer's hardware? Performance is gated by the slowest component, which for a website could be the browser, computer, network, or server running the web site.

If you have another computer, try that on the same site. If it too is slow, it likely is not the computer.

New 13" still has the old keyboard?

It's just noticeably getting slower. Dunno if it's hardware? Should I run some performance tests?
