Hi, I have a bunch of "MPEG Movie" and "AVI Movie" videos I want to upload on YouTube. Every time I upload them they cannot be watched in HD, the quality is reduced drastically. Is there anyway around this? I understand that the videos I want to upload may not be true High Definition, but they are VERY good quality.

Will I need to convert all my videos first? If so, can you recommend me one please.

Thanks in advance :)

I think you'll have to convert them and upscale to high definition if you're not satisfied with the high quality setting in youtube.

In order for them to be in HD on YouTube, they must be HD on your computer.

HD movies on You Tube

I use iMovie HD-iLife 06 to create my videos. I use my digital camera's video function to take little movies. they are not HD by any means. when I create them on iMovie 06 and export them as anything under 640 x 480, they cannot be viewed as HD on YouTube. If they are 640 x 480 (and not HD) I can click the HD button on You Tube and they come up as HD with a huge difference in quality.

640x480 is HQ, not HD for YouTube. HD is AT LEAST 1280x720. Yes, there is a difference between Normal and HQ, but an even bigger difference between HQ and HD.

HQ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzLZlcA-3Tg&fmt=18
