Upload limiter for mac FTP?

Hi, I am trying to transfer some large files over FTP from my home computer to my college one. It is working great, in fact too great, because the transfer is eating all of my upload bandwidth and Remote Desktop is now very slow and the internet at home is going very slowly! Is there a way to limit the upload speed of the FTP transfer so I don't hog the connection? I have tried a few FTP apps to no avail, any thoughts?

try one of those two, or any other "bandwidth shaper" to do what you want.
(carrafix (the second one) is the one to get if you dont know how to install the first one)
