Upload my Iphone 4 contacts to Imac address book

Help please,

When looking to sync my contacts, there is a note to advise that this will replace my phone contacts with the Imac address book.

Is there a way to merge the address book as I have many more contacts in my phone than in address book, and do not want to erase these!!
