I have two problems with Safari (and Terra) on the iPad.

1. How can I get the 'mouse-over' effect to work? its not critical but it would be useful on some of the sites I browse.
2. How can I upload a document via the browser? I sometimes have to upload files on-line. When I go to the site in safari and click the box to locate and upload a file the entire option is greyed out in Safari. I understand there is no file manager access to in IOS and if I want to transfer a document I have to open it and transfer it via email, but this isn't useful for websites where a file manager is required. I don't need a full on file manager but even being able to keep some files in a 'my documents' style folder and being then able to upload files from this folder alone would be great. Right now my only work around is to fire up my PC and use that instead.

Is there a browser or an app that would allow me to upload documents on-line or has IOS locked out any form of file management? This for me is a stand-out downside of IOS compared to Android.

There is no mouse over, because there is no mouse...:)

You can use iCab for uploading - it can upload pictures and video from pictures app or any file from iCab download manager.

So if you want upload some file from your email you will use open in... iCab. This will move file to iCab download manager. Then just open webpage in iCab and upload as usuall. It works well but not with every webpage, it they have some special uploading plugin you are out of luck....

Thanks for your responses! Im pretty sure when playing about with the iPad (i sold it in anticipation for iPad 3) when I was rubbing the screen around there was a moment when the 'mouse-over' preview came up in Terra. I never managed to replicate it again. I also read in an IOS developers guide that the functionality is there in IOS but Ive not seen if properly implemented. Anyway, no big deal and I can live without it.

Regarding the file upload feature in iCab I will certainly give that a try. I have to upload a daily report online through a web browser and I could never get that to work but if iCab can do the trick then I'll be delighted.

Many thanks indeed.
