iPod touch uploading high res pics to ipod touch

hello all

I will soon be a happy owner of an ipod touch and I started looking for things I'd like my new gadget t o do. From what I heard, any image that you upload to the ipod using itunes, it is scaleld down in resolution automatically, right?

The problem of that scaling down is that you can only zoom once in the picture ...and things already start looking very pixelated.

Is there a way to avoid the automatic scaling down? I'd like to be able to put a nice 12MB image and then zoom as much as I want..anyone knows any software to do so?

I use a app called "file magnet" for this. However it really is bog slow with large images. There are a few other Apps similar on the store but all seem to bog down a bit with larger images.
