Uploading pictures to Google Cloud VERY SLOW

Just wondered if others experienced this. Two days ago I started to upload my picture library (almost 4000 pics) into Google Cloud. Still showing 3600 not uploaded! This is ludicrous!
 
Not mine. I can only think of two reasons why.

1. Slow internet upload speed
2. Your photos are large files
