Okay, I can't find ANY help for this anywhere:
I just purchased a 13" MB Pro (cheaply) with damaged Firewire/USB ports. The 1 remaining USB port is the one that is connected with iSight, keyboard, etc, so it's not recognizing my camcorder when connected (it barely recognizes my external hard drive).

My "solution" is to perhaps buy an Airport Extreme base station in hopes that I'd be able to use that for all USB-related connections. Is this possible? I mean, with a camera/camcorder?

Thanks for reading!

The usb port on the extreme only works for storage and for printers. Now, if your camera is one of those hard drive types, and if it shows up like a usb hard drive when you plug it in, you might be able to get it to work. If it's something that you have to copy the videos from tape using video capture software, it won't work.

Have you tried plugging in a powered hub into your working port and then plugging the camera into that? What happened to the ports, water damage?
