uploading video to macbook from camcorder

Im hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 2007 macbook and Im trying to convert 8mm tapes using a camcorder from the stone age. I can't seem to find the correct adapter/cords to upload the videos to my computer in order to convert them to DVD. The ports the camcorder has are RCA ports and an S-video port. What is the easiest, most cost effective solution for this? Help!

Jessica, Those websites are helpful for the converting process, thank you. I guess what Im struggling with, is that I don't know what hardware I need to purchase to make it happen. Im on a very elementary level with this. What would be an appropriate capture device?

The 2007, it has Firewire still, right? I don't recall. You do not have to buy that unit, but that is going to point you in the direction you need, I think.
