It's not really a problem, but if somebody knows, what happens --
I have had 4 years old Imac24 with 240G HD. I made Time Machine backup and replaced HD with 1TB model.
Works fine, and -- funny thing -- now I have more than 800 GB free space.
Actually, I have tried to find some information about lost space on HD, but seems that nobody really knows -- my 240GB HD was FULL -- some 230GB used. Now I restored everything and... ... 167GB!!! And everything seems to be in place. (No need to explain about .trashes etc etc -- I know that stuff).
Basically, I have noticed over the years, that something eats up disk space.
Is only recommendation "windows-like solution" -- after couple of years reinstall HD? I would appreciate some more mac-like solution ;-)
Any ideas?
