Does anyone know what the difference is between the arrival scan and the import scan at UPS? My tracking has the arrival scan at 9:29 a.m. yesterday morning and the import scan was today at 8:58 a.m. at the same location.

I'm just curious.

To avoid potentially scolded, I would like to disclaim that I am not worried about my iPhone arriving on time.

Arrival Scan: This scan is an electronic record indicating the shipment has been received at a UPS facility. Shipments may travel through several UPS facilities throughout their journey. The shipment is moving; however, there may be several days between scans if the shipment is going cross-country or moving between countries.

Import Scan: The shipment has cleared import procedures in the receiving country.

Arrival scan is that it got off it's mode of transportation (airplane in this case) and is now in the center at the location provided (probably KY)

Import scan is that it's been imported into the US, technically. Yes it's been here, but now it's been cleared by customs. Kind of weird it didn't do it in Alaska, but they just have to do it before the final warehouse/delivery, and my guess is they have a huge Customs setup in KY
