UPS drivers being attacked for iPhone 6

UPS just delivered my phone. He asked if it was an iPhone I was getting and I confirmed.

He then told me that they were being warned that some UPS drivers in NYC were being jumped and robbed for the iPhones.

This is nuts! What's next? UPS is going to need armed escorts on launch days?

BTW, anyone else get a HUGE outer box with the 6 Plus in it? I was expecting the normal box that's just slightly bigger than the retail box.

Yes, huge outer box for a small white box inside. thought that was strange as well. Must be going incognito.

From the pic my wife sent me, my regular 6 brown box looked to be just a little bigger than the standard UPS shipping label, which I guess is 4x6. The box maybe 5x7 or thereabout.

Happens every year. That is why they do not leave it at the door as people follow the UPS driver to steal phones left out.

It is New York.

As for FedEx, the tractor trailer trucks hauling nothing but iPhones, DO have armed escorts.
