Hi,

I have to get a UPS asap for the following config:

Mac Pro 2,8 octo + 2 LaCie 120 monitors

and maybe another one for G5 2 x 2,5 + 30" ACD.

I'm thinking about APC Back-UPS RS 1500VA, -- is it sufficient, not enough, overkill? Is APC a reliable brand (no experience with UPS at all)?

Thanks!

I have a similar set up with two Samsung 22" monitors. I have my Airport Extreme and Time Machine external drive attached as well. I think it says that I have 17 minutes of run time on UPS battery with this configuration. Most of my research suggested 1500VA would be best.

Thanks, Doc!

Do you have any idea about the life-cycle of its battery? How soon does it have to be replaced?

In my reading, I found 3 years to be common life.

Hi,

Thank you for the link, it looks indeed like 3 years are the most common term. Thus I'm set for MP.

Does anybody knows, whether G5 with 30" could be used with a less powerful UPS, let's say with APC Back-UPS RS, 1000VA/600W ?

Thanks once again!
