My iPhone was expected to be available for pickup at the Redmond, WA UPS CC on Friday, 9/20. It never was marked ready for pick up but I went in anyways. UPS said they never had any physical scan of the iPhone, only logical scans of the pallet/bag that it was in.
I called Apple on Friday and they agreed to open a shipping investigation to see if they could locate the phone. They said it could take up to 3 business days. Yuck but whatever, it’s not like I’m going to die without it.
I called UPS myself on Friday and asked if they could place a trace on the package. They said they aren’t allowed to place traces on delivery day and to call back on Monday if it’s still lost.
Then today, Sunday, I received a call from Apple asking if I’d like to cancel my order. They said if it was lost, Apple couldn’t issue another phone because it’s an upgrade program phone. She also said that I could have them investigate but that it would take 3 days. She almost seemed annoyed when I said I want them to investigate.
Is there anything else I could do to locate my phone? If I reorder as suggested today, I’m stuck waiting an entire month. I woke up at 5am on preorder day to ensure I had a phone on launch day.
