UPS - Stuck in Anchorage?

Hey everyone,

Have seen a bunch of posts with people in the same situation as me. Thought we could consolidate and have any new information posted here.

This is for people who received a 'Departure Scan' in Anchorage on Tuesday at 9:10PM but have yet to see any updates past then. Similar to this (mine is destined for Toronto... says it will arrive next Tuesday):

They are in Kentucky and will be delivered on Monday. I phoned UPS and yelled at them for sending me an email that it will be delivered today.

Same boat as you as mine is also destined for the GTA.

I beginning to think that the Alaska Tourism Board has something to do with this. Maybe they are hoping we will fly/drive up to Anchorage in order to rescue our Macs.

I had this same issue when I ordered my refurb. The package had a departure Scan from San Pablo CA for about a week before I saw any update of a arrival scan in New Jersey. I spoke to my UPS representive (seeing that I work as a shipping and Receiving manager) and He told me that if the package appears to be sitting at one place to to long, that means It is on a truck or train. Thats what I have been told. Thought I would share it here. Its slowly making its why closer to you.

Mine had the normal arrive/import scan/departure KY now. Took them over 2 days but it finally left. Maybe it will reach my local one by tomorrow and I'll call them to try to come get it

I just got an import scan @ 1:13pm after stuck in KY over 2 days.

Same here. Sat in a warehouse for two days. I was told repeatedly it would be delivered today. Coming Monday now.

Ah well, worse things have happened.

Ditto, got the UPS MyChoice message yesterday that my 27 would be delivered today. at 1:37pm my tracking info updated to say import scan at Louisville.
Guess they got some work to do to get it here today.

ok i have a detailed explanation of what and why this post on ups shipping ok "Arrived - Anchorage, AK, United States" was your quote on/ answer on what was happening with your package this is an actual place in Alaska. more than likely the package is passing through japan and you would think the next destination would be Hawaii. "wrong answer" why think about this it takes 18-22 hour's to fly to Hawaii on top of That sails Tax is Applied to all items coming into and leaving the state that means any item has double the state tax on all Items passing through the state. that means you are paying double the states "sails tax"not the shipping fee. on every item passing Through that state! it makes more since to ship the item to Alaska where no such Law exists. Further more its 18-22 hours i mentioned that before its 14-16 hoers to Alaska from Japan which Means it is less expensive Fly to Alaska than it is to fly to Hawaii. that translates to savings for the costumer the snider and the shipping company & you the buyer.

I'm guessing everyone in this thread received the macs that they were talking about a long time ago, and many have probably already received a replacement or two considering this thread is 5 years old.

ok i read thee post and no answer had been given and i have working knowledge of how thing work in Hawaii i lived there for 6 years serving our wonderful country. so i kinda was able to figure out very quickly what was happening and why it was happening it took less than 2 mins for me to figure it out doing a quick search. knowledge is half the battle its a famous quote from an old cartoon Gi-Joe. But it's so true!! understanding how things work made understanding this situation easy.
