I'm stuck at"

Memphis, TN, United States 10/13/2011 1:00 A.M. Agent pickup; in transit to UPS facility.

It has to have arrived at the UPS facility already. Why aren't there other events showing? UPS's tracking system is a piece of crap.

Yesterday I got something from Amazon and I was checking the tracking to see when it arrived. I finally gave up at 7pm and went downstairs to the security office where they keep packages and it had been there for several hours already. The tracking didn't get updated to "delivered" until really late.

Tomorrow is going to suck as I'll have no idea when the package actually gets here. I don't want my phone sitting in at my security office too long.

Are you serious? Some people on this forum are ridiculous.

You have a tracking number. You know it's coming tomorrow. WHAT ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT?

Just stay off the internet until the end of tomorrow and you won't have to worry why you can't see each step your package is taking.

Bring them a bag of bagels in the morning and ask them to call you when a package arrives?

I'm worried about the phone being in the security office without me knowing about it.

I'm going to try this!

So what does that have to do with UPS tracking? You want the tracking to tell you it's in your security office?

Maybe Siri can call you and let you know. ;)

Yes, I want to know when it arrives so I can go downstairs and pick it up like I do with Fedex packages.

1. The UPS tracking system is not crap. The UPS tracking system is severly over loaded at the moment.

2. If you go buy the guys in the security office some breakfast or coffe or something then I am sure it can be arranged that you will be notified or possibly have it hand delivered when it arrives.

That's UPS.

Their independent drivers, especially, will falsify delivery times etc..

Not sure what you are worried about. Someone signed and the security office is suppose to be, secure.

You can always call UPS and ask them to not deliver but hold at the local UPS center.

I used to take my security guy Starbucks and coffee cake anytime I had a package coming. Usually he'd just bring it up for me.

It's amazing what people will do for food. :)

Let's see if I have this right...UPS tracking is crap, but you can't get the security people to call you if you get a package? Sounds like they think you're more annoying than I do.

A few points to be made:
1. UPS has a far superior tracking system to the alternatives (FedEx is way worse and USPS is damn near non-existent).
2. If you're just going to be sitting in your apartment, why not take a folding chair down and just hang out in front of the security office?
3. How do you have all day to sit around and do nothing but wait?

UPS tracking is pretty good. It's under A LOT of stress this week. They have their usual millions of packages to deal with with an extra million on top of that thanks to us and Apple.

there is a 99.99% chance you will have your new phone some time Friday.

As for the bagel trick- this works in virtually every situation. Good suggestion.

I work nights.

Many people people work from home at least part of the week or work shifts other than M-F 8-5pm.

That I can understand. Didn't necessarily imply that he/she should be at work--simply shouldn't there be more to do with the day than sit around waiting for a phone? And again, if you do feel that's a worthwhile use of your time wouldn't it make sense to post up in front of the office? Take your laptop down there, pick up some wi-fi, have a little pow wow.

Every time I use ups the tracking says my package has left "any east coast dist center" for days. Then the package arrives. Only days later does ups finally fill in the remainder, which is usually.. "package delivered".
I receive multiple packages per month this happens with every one.
I can understand the frustration...why have a tracking system when it doesn't track?

Ok I missed why you dug up this extremely pointless thread that happily committed suicide 7 flicking months ago.
