Good Afternoon all on a very rainy day here in Exeter, UK!

I have recorded quite a lot of videos on my mobile (friends and family mainly) and these are unfortunately in quite poor quality. The camera on the phone is only VGA, however I was wondering if there is anything I can do to try and improve the quality on these files (all 3gp format?)

The sound is ok but if I could make the picture a bit sharper then that would be great. Even a minor improvement would be welcome. I am using a Macbook 2ghz on OS X.5 and wouldn't mind buying shareware etc if it would help.

Thanks,

Tom

While you may be able to enhance the appearance of the video with certain filters, you cannot really improve on it's original quality. Video is pretty much a 'garbage in - garbage out' type of endeavor.

You can use the color corrector in iMovie. It wont help much, but should make the clips a little more clear.

Thanks, I'll try that. I might also try and get a more modern phone!
