So I have noticed that when I watch a DVD on my PS3 its looks a lot better than when I watch a DVD on my DVD player. I have been ripping my DVDs using MakeMKV and noticed that the MKV files don't look as good as when I play the DVDs on the PS3. I have this is because of "upscaling". Is there a way to upscale the MKVs to look better?

You need some software that is able to do so.
What are you using to play the mkv's? The PS3 or a Mac?
If you use a Mac, I know that Plex can upscale video.
