Anyone been to it before? I find it useful because I'm a 40 year old trapped in a teenager's body, so I have no clue what people are talking about.

With true lingo besides, if you actually look something up, like Apple, T-Mobile, Abercrombie, MTV, etc. they say nothing but negative things. That part bothers me.

Just thought I'd share. You can, too, if you find this thread interesting. :)

Sometimes I'm a little horrified at what some of these neologisms actually mean.

I'm 19 and most of it is utter Greek to me. :p

I love that place, I love typing in random gibberish and getting the most sick and twisted answer that could only be thought of in the fires of hell

I've always found UrbanDictionary to be an incredibly useful site, even though there are an awful lot of stupid definitions posted along with the useful ones.

yeah, it used to be a commonplace for me. Not so much that i was clueless to what something meant. I mainly used it to find new words and then use them on others, so they would be like "OMG wat dos tat meen?" and I'd be like "Ha u r so not cool since u don't noes wat dat meen". :D

I love urban dictionary. Its such a nice resource.

People on it hate abercombie because they're all goths. JK

Seriously, search Prep, Preppy, or any words like that. Its funny.

This is what's great about it.

However...

• I don't like when definition posters treat UD like a back-and-forth message board. You should post your definition and not directly mention or insult another definition while doing so (definitions like "Abercrombie" illustrate this point exactly).

• I don't like cliquish inside-joke definitions (probably 60%+ of all definitions on UD fit in this category).

With that said, I do enjoy visiting the site, and I do so quite frequently.

I don't have kids yet ... but I already have a great idea for parenting. I'm going to get business cards that say urbandictionary.com on them. When junior comes up and asks me about something super awkward, I'll let them use that site to figure it out.

Well atleast until DCFS takes my children for letting them learn about very vulgar things.

Cleveland Steamer for instance.

Have you been lurking on my bookmarks bar? :p It's really interesting seeing how language gets created.

I've been visiting the site for a few years now. Mainly as a source of humor, but sometimes to look up some "street slang" I come across at times.
