Hello,

So I just upgraded to MobileMe and wanted to do a clean update of all of my contacts because my .Mac address book hasn't been updated in months. So I deleted all of my contacts on MobileMe and did a fresh sync from Address Book.

Well instead of syncing Address Book to MobileMe, it did the reverse and erased all of my Address Book contacts.

I am running Time Machine so I know that I can restore those contacts, I just don't know which file to restore and where to look for it.

Can anybody help?

IIRC=If I Remember Correctly

Restore Address Book from Time Machine.

So do I just enter Time Machine and select the Address Book app to restore, or is there a certain file that I need to find to restore that contains all of my contacts.

Next time when you do a sync to MobileMe, go into System Preferences first, then MobileMe, then sync, then advanced, then 'Reset Sync data'. You can specify to replace everything on MobileMe with what is on your machine, or vice versa. Make sure the arrow is going from the computer icon to the cloud icon.

It's not really an app, but a package, so yeah, just select the whole Address Book icon, it'll grab everything inside of it as well. Do a Get Info and compare sizes from today to whenever you go back to (yesterday? Day before?) and you should see a dramatic difference in size. Once you've found the version you feel is the likely candidate, just click on it to highlight and then click the restore button on the bottom of the TM window. The animation's kinda cool. Once. ;)
