Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying a good 22/23/24 inch (1920x1080 or 1920x1200) display to use with a Mac Pro.

This year im going to study graphic design, video editing and 3D so I need a GOOD display, but not a high-end one because I don't want to spend more than 200-250€.

For now, I've two options:

- 2nd hand Dell 2407WFP for 180€ including shipping.
- Brand new Dell Ultrasharp U2311H, 209€ including shipping (http://www.pccomponentes.com/dell_ultrasharp_u2311h_23__ips.html).

AFAIK, the 2407WFP uses a S-PVA panel and is considered a high-end monitor, while the U2311H uses an E-IPS panel and is considered a consumer-grade monitor.

So well... which is better for the price?

P.D.: Other monitors like Nec or Samsung are wellcome.

EDIT: The revision of the 2407WFP is A03.

Vote for 2311h

I have the Dell U2311h on my 2011 MacBook Pro and I like it very much. No speakers but I use externals anyway. I like the display port connection. Color accuracy is acceptable and tilt is nice.

Dell monitor quality has gone down. It's basically crap shoot if you get a good one and that includes the Ultrasharp line.
I would recommend an HP ZR24W which you can find for $350 to $400. Much better quality control and service and support. It falls under HP's business line which has much better support than their consumer line.
Its also generally cheaper than the Dell Ultrasharps.

Hit the googles and Anandtech for reviews. The HP reviews very well. Love my IPS Dell at work.

Please, I need a complete opinion about the 2407WFP A03 revision!!!

I have two of them they are good monitors with great colour range not a problem in the few years I have owned them as long as the one you get is in good shape you should be fine and as happy with the purchase as I am.
