I have the latest Ventura on a MacStudio M2
This morning I had an issue with Apple Maps not loading , just the empty squares. Tried to clear caches etc nothing worked
Run disk utility restarting from Options-Old Recovery Mode- and it found this

Checking the fsroot tree.
warning: inode (id 32836840): Resource Fork xattr is missing for compressed file
warning: inode (id 32836904): Resource Fork xattr is missing for compressed file

Checking the extent ref tree.
Checking the file key rolling tree.
Verifying volume object map space.
The volume /dev/rdisk3s5 was found to be corrupt and needs to be repaired.
Verifying allocated space.
Performing deferred repairs.

The volume /dev/rdisk3s5 appears to be OK.
File system check exit code is 0.
Restoring the original state found as mounted.
Operation successful.

Run again DiskUtility once back with my user and got the same results.
Tried to see if a different user would have had the same issue and yes , Maps wasn't working there either

What should I do to fix it? Beside reinstalling from scratch and reimporting from my backup
any solution?
Thanks in advance

it is fixed. As stated. What are you worried about?
Because it keeps showing the same errors when I run disk utility again.
And Maps it's not working when on my devices Maps works just fine. So it's not a failure of Maps
but my disk, I wonder?

well, you should have mentioned that, shouldn’t you? In any case - and to compress time to determine what exactly happened - format drive, reinstall macos and restore from Time Machine.

Other than that: did you look at the console to see what Apple Maps reports when “it is not working”? (what exactly happens when you (try to) start Maps?)

Yes I checked but nothing there

Yes I checked but nothing there
When you click the Maps icon what exactly happens? Does a window appear but you see only a grid?

  • First clear the cache for Maps by deleting the following folder ~/Library/Caches/GeoServices.
  • Restart your computer, then try running Maps.

If you've adjusted the settings for your application firewall,

If the issue persists, try resetting the cache of accepted certificates:
  • Click your desktop to make sure that you're in Finder.
  • From the menu at the top of your computer screen, choose Go > Go to Folder.
  • In the box, enter /var/db/crls/
  • Click Go.
  • Drag the files labeled crlcache.db and ocspcache.db to the dust bin.
  • If prompted, enter your administrator password.
  • Restart your computer, then try running Maps.
EDIT: the error Disk Utility reports is probably unrelated and can be fixed in the way @bogdanw suggested.

Yesterday I fixed Maps, clearing caches and in Activity Monitor forcing to quit GEO, an old trick I used 2 or 3 years ago and worked.
Because I have FileVault on I tried to turn it off and back on to see if the errors were gone but didn't work
I added a volume : everything is ok but the Mac Data-HD is the one that still gives the same errors

You could try from Terminal #12
Ta-da 🙂 Success!
This is the updated version of the old booting in Single User mode with
fsck -fy

Thanks 💗 !

One more question: I installed on an external disk a version of Ventura 13.6.7
I deleted the installer but I lost almost 10GB on my computer because the installer started from my HD and
I guess it lefts somewhere the macOS Install folder
Now I see a APFS Startup Snapshot • APFS in Disk Utility

Is it possible to delete it without compromising my system ?

Never mind, suddenly my original space is back without deleting the snapshot

Modern Macs check the Signed Sealed System Volume on every boot. If it passes the checks then a snapshot is made and the Mac boots from the snapshot. If it fails the checks the machne will not boot and you will be told to reinstall.

You absolutely cannot delete that startup snapshot!

Thanks for explaining it so well and coincisely
