Urgent Help. "macintosh Hd" Gone.

I have a macbook air [one with the 74.XX Gb HD.]

I didn't know what i was doing but i read somewhere i had to format/erase the drive.. So what i did was... clicked on "MACINTOSH HD" and i went to "ERASE" tab in the disc utility [inside the Mac OS X install disc]

then i clicked on "ERASE" on the bottom right of the window.. and now instead of "MACINTOSH HD" It says "untitled" and now when i boot up.. it wont load an Operating system. It flashes a picture of a folder and a question mark.

Summarized..

In disc utility inside mac os x install cd i deleted my hard drive to install leopard, and now when i boot up it wont load an os.

ALSO THE DISC WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE IT ISNT THE DISC THAT CAME WITH MACBOOK AIR [Grey disc's]

and also when i boot up with a cd in superdrive.. sometimes a list will pop up saying to select... either... "install disc" or "network utility"

please help me . i dont understand what to do.

When you get the option for Install Disc, run it, to run the installer. Otherwise, just use the Leopard Disc you have. Since you have an Air, and if you don't have the proper disc, simply buy Snow Leopard for $30, and install it. Put it in the drive, then hold 'C' on boot up for it to automatically load the CD/DVD in the drive.

But i don't have an operating system installed, and snow leopard is just an upgrade .

I thought i needed a previous operating system installed already??

or do i just install it.. and its good enough?

with 2 files and 2 folders it says?

To be safe, do an erase and install. You're clear after that.

Trust it. It's a Mac. Put the disc in and install the OS.
