If you have the time, you can drive down to the state of Delaware and purchase your Mac from the Apple Store located in Christiana Mall.

I looked it up in Google Maps and it's 142 miles (about 2 hours 48 mins) away from the airport.
they have no tax or something? (what other state has no sale tax?)

That is a horrible drive. Worth $200 not to have to do it. Especially with the tolls and the Jersey Turnpike...yuck.

Yeah, that's correct - but it's a very long drive to save a relatively minor amount of money.

LOL, i'm not about to drive to there from missouri if that's what you meant

sometimes in the future, i kinda want to live in boston for a while, then it'd only be a 40 minutes drive, according to google map...

Yeah the Salem, NH store is an easy drive from Boston.

Exactly. I drive donw to DE/MD/VA/NC from NY metro quite often by car. The drive from JFK to DE would be long and tedius. The traffic from JFK to NJ Turnpike and traffic jam after the long bridge as you enter Delaware would be a deal breaker as well.

There is no way to do that in the US.

Louisiana offers refunds for sales tax paid by international tourists. They get the retail store to fill out a slip and at the airport when they are leaving they get the tax back.

oh yeah, and the toll, that was something new for me

thank you very much for all the ideas you gave me :)

i was talking with a friend this morning (he was in NY last week) and he told me that he bought a 4Gb ipod nano in the 5th avenue apple store for only 199$!!!!.... so i think that he don't pay taxes... could it be possible????????
