URGENT HELP NEEDED: Imac Screen is dark

Hello.

My imac 17 inch with OS 10.3.9, screen went dark last night - kind of looks like it is in sleep mode. I restarted this morning and it is still dark. a sun icon pops up in the middle of the screen at times. I tried to reset the sleep mode for 30 minutes but it is still dark. any help would be apprecieated as I have a lot of work to do today on this computer and it's hard to see screen.

Try pressing F14 and F15 these are the keyboard shortcuts to change the brightness.

That worked...and, I just realized my mouse board sits over those buttons and got loose...last night it must have pushed on those buttons and made it dark. Thanks a million!
