I did a clean install of lion. However, I completely forgot about needing to reinstall ilife/iwork. Prior to upgrading I backed up my mac with superduper.

I located my iWork disc and applications install disc that came with my 2011 MBP. I was able to reinstall iWork. However, i was hesitant to use the applications disc to reinstall iWork because when I launched the installer, it shows icons for applications like spaces, time machine, etc.

If I run the applications install disc so I can get ilife back, will it overwrite all my Lion applications with my snow leopard applications? I urgently need iPhoto by tonight for a conference, if anyone could please help me it would be much appreciated.

Just reinstall the SL ilife apps and then update them through the Apple Software update under about this mac. You should be fine then.

Hmm, I ran the install CD and I have iMovie, iWeb, and iDvD working. However, iPhoto (what I absolutely need) will not launch at all. Is this a compatibility problem with Lion, or is something wrong with my iPhoto?

Are you using iPhoto '11? And did you update it like previously suggested?

Yes, I have iLife '11 apps. Prior to clean install I made a clone of my SNL system on an external drive. I just checked my external drive and the version I had on my old SNL was 9.1.5 (plugged up the drive and pressed "get info" on it). Garage band is working fine, and software update found an update for it (6.0.4), but that was it.

EDIT: Whoops, let me show you what happens when I launch it from my hard drive (I accidentally just launched it from my external)

Here is what happens when I try to open iPhoto after I used the reinstall CD as stated earlier:
