Urgent help please with regards to video capture

Hello,

I'm a Sonic Arts guy so I mainly deal with audio.

However for my latest (and final Masters assignment) I want to create some full screen applications that I can make do things with my mouse. After I record myself playing with these I want to score the video with sounds I've made.

The problem I have is with screen capture.

I can make the program run in presentation mode and this means that NOTHING AT ALL is on my screen other than the app.

The screen capturing software I'm using now allows me to record full screen (and thus I get the entire app with no menu bar etc) and it allows me to hide the mouse from the final recording even though I can view it as I'm recording.

The recording program is a simple Java program and as such only allows a very poor quality recording with a terrible frame rate.

I really need something better - can anyone recommend any well known apps that I can get that will allows fast frame recordings (as some of the apps include very fast moving lines).

Thanks for those suggestions. . god I wish I had snow leopard and Quicktime X.

$30 is looks like I'll have to pay for the iShowU HD.

The fact I can hide my mouse with the current one is great but the quality is just too awful
