Urgent Help with iTunes Restore

I know, my bad running on a pc! I run XP on laptop with McAfee and every time I get new iPhone update my phone fails on authentication. So I have to go to the Genius Bar to get my phone wiped in order to start over. Although being cumbersome and a PITA it works. The latest version hasn't let me do this and phone is stuck with usb/itunes graphic on screen and full green bar on pc restoring iPhone software,

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP :mad:
