Alright Im using osx.2 native and im obvioulsy having to go into classic to bring up quark x press.

I cant seem to be able to export for pdf. It says...

"Acrobat Distiller Printer Description FIle is not currently installed. A generic PPD will be used instead. "

what am i suppose to do now?

thanks

okay yeah i just now figured that out. man this bites. thanx man.

alright got any advice on the next step? getting a document into pdf in quark? it seems to be needed a printer hooked up to it? does it need that? im clueless with quark at the moment.
any advice would help... thanx.

its asking for a serial number and im not able to access it the way it wants me to through apple menu in os classic because it keeps on going back to x.

and know you are starting to understand why users of quark have been complaining about it for the last... oh.... 10 years or so!

is this for pro use? if not, if this is just for you to mess around with, use adobe's product instead. plays much nicer with pdf's and such...

yeah i hear ya. this is for pro use. if i had my way i would use indesign. screw this. but i cant i have to use quark.

i also see youe other Quark questions... Quark sucks, huh... I converted masses to the ways of Apple, now if I can just move them along to ID2

:D

In order for Quark's Export to PDF function to work, you have to have Acrobat Distiller installed, and then you have to select any Postscript printer (LaserWriter 8 for example) in the (Classic) Chooser. You don't actually have to have a printer attached.

If you use a Postscript printer for physical printing, you can just leave that PPD selected.

Then it should all work...

When's it asking for a serial number?

Hope this helps.. Quark's a dog, but I've lost my InDesign CD. Sigh.
