The power button on top of my wife's iPhone 4 black AT&T broke. So, I took it all apart and replaced that cable.

Success! Power button works. But in doing so, I tore the cable to the headphone jack. So of course things are still broken.

So tonight, I replace the headphone jack cable. Now, the headphone jack and volume buttons and silent toggle all work again.

BUT

Her home button (still) does not work, and now the phone doesn't charge, and if I play music from the speaker it is recognizable but extremely distorted.

I noticed a small tear on the ribbon cable from the dock assembly; right near where it connects to the logic board. This is *probably* the culprit. So I've ordered a replacement part for that dock assembly that I intend to replace on Tuesday. I am SURE this will fix the charging, and I'm FAIRLY sure it will fix the home button and mic/speaker.

Can someone (preferably with experience) give me a second opinion here? I don't mind buying these inexpensive parts, and I don't mind installing them, and despite all this damage I've done I seem capable of doing the repairs (the damage was all due to a battle I had from the really really sticky battery actually).. but the spin time between 'fix' the phone, wait a few days for a new part, 'fix' the phone, wait a few days... is not good.

The real urgency here is now I have a wife with a phone that won't charge and can't make calls, who is about 2 weeks from giving birth, so while this is not a huge deal it obviously makes her very uncomfortable and nervous. So if there's another cable or part I should order right now to anticipate another issue, please please recommend it to me!

Thanks

Robert
