Urgent - macbook pro camera not working - blinks green light

Hi,
I have an important meeting and my macbook pro 2017 camera has just stopped working. The green light blinks slowly on and off.

I thought it was because I had to update the os, so I did but that doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. Anything else I can try?

Welcome to flexgate, if its 13inch macbook pro, your best bet is to get the replacement screen as apple is changing it free of charge

a couple of years ago the screen went and apple changed it for free......how is this related?

because of the ribbon cables, i had mine screen changed to due to same defect with my 15inch machine, it got replaced while it was in warranty, the 2016 to 2019 15 and 13 inch macbook pro machines are prone to cable break, either the webcam or the display cable or both
 
I checked system information and camera and doesn't say camera not connected - also passed diagnostics....

What are my options??
 
Get something like the Reincubate Camo app for your Mac and use your iPhone as webcam.
 
does anyone know a fix for this issue? I have a 2021 m1 MacBook Pro and the camera says it isn't detected after green light comes on. I have tried the reset commands, ensured its accessible to apps etc. no luck

Personally, I would take it to Apple and let them try to fix it, especially if it's under warranty.

So I did a SMC reset on it, and that worked! Camera up and running again. Hopefully this info helps someone else if they have the same trouble.

Has anyone had any issues with the 13 inch m1 MacBook camera suddenly not working? I went into the device hardware and the camera is not showing anymore. Im hoping this is just a glitch and I can somehow reset it? I don't have an apple store here in Guam :(
