I'm looking at a 30" display to buy from someone, and I want to know if it's the pre-March 28, 2006 version, or the post-March 28, 2006 version. (The difference being the upgraded contrast and brightness).

I don't have the display yet... this guy was going to bring it by later today.. but is there something I could tell him to do to check and find out what version it is?

Thanks!

The only physical difference would be the serial number. You'll have to look at the first five digits of the serial number. The first two are meaningless to you, the third is the last digit of the year is was made in, and the fourth and fifth are the week of the year. Example: If it is 38511NT82HE it was made in week 11 of 2005.
